A BASIC Stamp II microcontroller blinks a standard floor lamp on and off in Morse code, through a solid state relay, at approx 2 wpm. For sending coded messages to fellow survivors of a major urban disaster, without alerting Zombies, Triffids or similar post- pre- or non-literate threats.

Ver 1.0, Prototype

Future versions will have:

  • battery backup systems, in case of major power failure
  • text entry via keypad or internet
  • optional photocell controlled night only operation to conserve power

It is customary to install this in the window of a tallish apartment building, so the light is highly visible in a large surrounding area. It also has been successfully installed on a large, high, harbour facing deck so as to attract the attention and assistance of passing ships. Does not provide protection from any megalomanical military types who may still be about.

SAMPLE MESSAGES:
1.	WE ARE ALIVE
2.	PLEASE DO NOT EAT AND OR MAIM US
3.	FUCK YOU zombies
4.	NO FAMILY
5. BRING UNCONTAMINATED WATER QUICKLY
